There cannot be a whole complete human being without an integration of feeling with thinking and acting, provided by ‘doing’, arising spontaneously out of the fundamental experience of ‘being’.

Psychoanalytic thought has been relegated to the old and antiquated in most graduate training institutes.

In truth, psychoanalysis is and always has been revolutionary.

What these graduate institutes fail to provide is a deep and complex understanding of what can be experienced and understood in the world of psychoanalytically informed psychotherapy.

The relational repairs.

The neurological and somatic rewiring.

The deepness of feeling seen.

The empowerment of knowing one’s own mind more completely.

The liberation.

The play.

The love.

Psychoanalytically informed treatment can look so many different ways. But at its best, I believe psychoanalytically informed psychotherapy is a full honoring of the human condition without rushing. A full acceptance of the other and the self— or the effort towards that goal.

Continuing education is designed for clinicians or those studying to be clinicians who are interested in the exploration of any and all psychoanalytic theories. From Freud and beyond. Continuing education offerings are vibrant, interactive and accepting of any stage in your development. I hope you can join us!

If you wish to pursue formal psychoanalytic education please visit the American Psychoanalytic Association website for a list of accredited institutes. Asheville Analytic Thought is an approved Continuing Education Provider through NBCC but is not accredited as a psychoanalytic institution. The goals of these offerings are different from those of an accredited institution.

Please note: Because the Psychoanalytic community in Asheville is still somewhat small there is a chance that you will wish to sign up for a course that your psychotherapist has also intended to sign up for. Please do discuss with your psychotherapist prior to signing up for any class. We do not allow for therapists and their clients to attend the same course at the same time. We also do not allow for current clients to attend courses taught by their therapist.

REFUNDS, PARTICIPATION AND CANCELLATION POLICY FOR TRAINING:
