Date: January 31st, 2026
Time: 1:00 PM-5:30 PM (30 minutes of breaks)
CE’s offered: 4
This 4 hour course will be practice heavy, theory light. We will read together about early development and attachment research along with some theory by Spotnitz and Winnicott that lends to Psychodynamic treatment interventions aligned with attachment science research. Participants will be asked to bring forth at least one case where early treatment resistances were a challenge for them. Early treatment resistances may include skepticism of therapy, difficulty talking, challenges with payment, frequent cancellations. We will try to answer the question “How do we help clients to resolve these resistances in a non-manualized relational treatment frame?’
We will answer questions about how to handle the first contact from a potential client, how and when to use psycho-education to resolve resistances, how to handle free initial meetings etc.
